Worship & Health Concerns

Windcrest United Methodist Church

April 30, 2009

As part of our Church Family we wanted you to know a few things...

Health Concerns in the News

If you have been watching the daily coverage of local and national news, we know you are aware of the current health concerns. We want you to know we are aware and have precautions in place here on the Church Campus.

Communion Sunday

This Sunday is Communion Sunday. For the health safety of everyone we are altering our usual method. Please follow the directions of communion stewards or the pastors and staff as we celebrate communion together.

Our Preschool

Our preschool, Childhood Expressions, will follow the lead of the Northeast Independent School District on school closures. There is a communication system in place and we will make every attempt to notify should the need arise.

Facility

Our custodial staff is bleach water cleaning every single restroom, classroom, and meeting space. Hand sanitizers are located throughout the rooms on campus. Please feel free to use them. Hand washing reminders have been posted in all restrooms and kitchens or sinks where hand washing is done.

Nursery

Our standard sanitizing practices include strict diaper changing procedures and regular hand washing and sanitizing for both children and care givers. It is our policy to not accept children who appear sick, have fever of 100.5 or higher or within the last 24 hours, or have non clear runny noses. In addition our custodial staff are super cleaning classrooms with bleach-water making sure that surfaces, handles, are kept clean. Toys are regularly cleaned in our commercial dishwasher with the schedule increased for the time being.

At Home

We hope providing you with this information about our safeguards encourages  and assures your participation with us. We know you will be careful about hand washing, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, and staying home when you feel ill. Please seek medical attention from your healthcare professional if you have flu-like symptoms. We also know you will stay informed.

For more information please visit the website for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
We look forward to seeing you as usual in Worship this Sunday. As always we welcome your prayer requests on the church office voicemail. Just call Jennifer at 210-654-0404 extension 123. Most especially join together in prayer for these global health concerns.

Sincerely,
Lonnie
