Men's Ministries
The men of WUMC participate in all areas of the church’s life. Whether in the church school program, evangelism, finance, ground and building maintenance or serving assisting in whatever capacity is needed to further the growing ministry of the church.
The Men's Ministry is by and for the men of our church and community. We are here to equip, enable and encourage men to hear God's calling to be spiritual leaders in the home, at church and in the San Antonio area. This ministry is multi-faceted with an emphasis on providing stimulus and accountability as we all grow in faith.
Men's Bible Study
The Men's Bible Study meets every Monday night in Room 303 of the McClung Building. Any man wishing to grow his faith through fellowship with other men is welcome to attend.
Men's Breakfast
Join us on the third Sunday of each month at 7:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Men and women are welcome to attend. We enjoy a hearty, home-cooked breakfast and a variety of speakers and topics. Breakfast is free, but donations are accepted.
United Methodist Men
All men of the church are invited and encouraged to participate in the Windcrest United Methodist Men, which is a diverse group including all ages and backgrounds. The UMM focuses on programs and activities that build character, increase awareness and teach members how to be better men, fathers, and followers of Christ. The organization supports various groups through service and monetary means. We are also sponsors of the church's Boy Scout Troop 157.
The UMM meet on the third Sunday of each month for a hearty, Texas-style breakfast at 7:30 am in the Fellowship Hall with an inspirational, educational and interesting speaker. Join us for Christian fellowship and spiritual growth. All men (and women!) are invited, so watch for meeting notices in the weekly Connection and eNews and the monthly Communicator.
Mission
The mission of the Southwest Texas Conference United Methodist Men is to make disciples for Jesus Christ and to be doers of the Word in all their relations.
The United Methodist Men Fellowship is the official organization for men in the United Methodist Church at the local church, Annual Conference, and denominational levels.
Some of the functions of the United Methodist Men are as follows:
- To involve men in a growing relationship to Jesus Christ and his church
- To provide resources and support for programs of evangelism focused on the needs of men
- To provide resources and programs in the area of stewardship
- To provide models and support for Annual Conference and local church United Methodist Men organizations
