We offer a variety of Christian Education opportunities for children at WUMC. Sunday mornings begin for children ages 2&3-years through 6th grade at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday school classes. During the 11:00 service, we offer Children’s Church for children age 4-years through 4th grade. Children begin worship with their family and are led out during the 3rd praise song. Registration is required and forms are found in the pew pockets. Nursery is available during all three of our worship services for children ages infant-2-years.
We are very proud of our Vacation Bible School! Held each summer during June, it has become one of the most popular VBS programs in the area. We use up-to-date curriculum and feature special “hands-on” activities that the children really enjoy. Our VBS program is one of the few in the community that is still free. Register your child early for this fun time - we usually “fill the house!”
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
We offer many special programs and events throughout the year. Some of those may include: Christmas program, Advent activities, Lenten activities, Easter events, special summer programs, mission opportunities, and many others. Our older elementary and younger middle-schoolers have special groups in which they participate in activities and fellowship. Our “Club 34” is for the 3rd and 4th grade students. They meet together on Sunday mornings and then occasionally outside of the SS hour. The O.S.O.M. (open spirits open minds, pronounced “awesome”) Tweens meet on Sunday mornings and twice monthly on Sunday afternoons. They participate in many mission and service activities. Sunday school classes are from 9:30-10:30. Please do not drop off your child any more than 5 minutes before SS begins. Our teachers use the time prior to classtime to prepare for the students. Thank you!
